Dimitris Yfantis is an Epirote musician, accessibility advocate, and accomplished multi‑instrumentalist, known for transforming the loss of his eyesight into a source of strength, artistry, and insight into inclusive practices.
Born in Ioannina, he studied classical singing and oud in Athens with Haig Yazdjian and has since mastered more than ten string and wind instruments. His career includes early collaborations with Dimitra Galani, leading to significant discography work, and the formation of Trifono, with which he earned two platinum and three gold records, as well as a long collaboration with Mikis Theodorakis’ Laiki Orchestra. Since 2014, he has taught traditional singing and traditional instruments at recognized conservatories and at the Department of Folk and Traditional Instruments at the Epirus Institute of Technology.
In addition to composing music for theatre, he performs widely in Greece and abroad, while actively promoting accessibility in the arts—drawing both from his lived experience and his commitment to inclusive cultural participation.
