Mentoring

Every team at the EpirusBank OpenHackathon receives dedicated mentoring support throughout the event. The mentoring program is a collaboration between the Open Hackathon and the Bank of Epirus, combining innovation expertise with specialized financial sector knowledge.

Each team is assigned a Primary Mentor: your main point of contact throughout the hackathon. They will:
  1. Help you define your problem and shape your implementation plan
  2. Guide scope management, prioritization, and execution
  3. Connect you with the right Subject Matter Experts
  4. Conduct regular check-ins and help remove blockers
  5. Support you in preparing your final pitch and demo

In addition to your Primary Mentor, you’ll have access to Subject Matter Experts who provide specialized, thematic guidance. SMEs may support more than one team and are available during predefined time slots or upon request.

  5. Cyber Security

How It Works

Mentor & SME Assignment:

After the final team selection is complete:

  1. A Primary Mentor is assigned to each team
  2. SMEs are made available to all teams based on domain needs

All assignments are communicated to teams before the hackathon kicks off, so you’ll know who your mentor is ahead of time.

Before the Hackathon:
  1. Your Primary Mentor may reach out for an optional introductory conversation
  2. Use this time to familiarize yourself with the themes and prepare your project

During the Hackathon (In-Person):
  1. Your Primary Mentor will be on-site for the full duration, checking in regularly with your team
  2. When you need specialized help, your mentor will coordinate access to the right SME
  3. SMEs will be available during their declared time slots to provide focused technical or domain support
